About

Thrive Market is an online membership-based marketplace offering high-quality, sustainable, and organic products at affordable prices.



This project was a collaborative effort involving a team of over 10 professionals, including designers, developers, and project managers. 

My role focused on product design, interface, and mobile experience, while also contributing to animations to ensure the client had a clear vision of how everything would function.





Problem

Their current website is outdated, broken, and lacks essential features. It overwhelms users with unnecessary information that is poorly organized across pages. There's no proper search functionality, making it difficult for users to find what they need.

Additionally, the onboarding process is confusing, leading to frustration for first-time visitors.






After several brainstorming sessions with the team, we decided to present a few strong concepts to the client. While refining the right direction, I explored and created around eight different design approaches.

Wireframing

Smooth push


One of Thrive Market's key challenges is low user engagement—from browsing to making a purchase. Our mission is to rethink the entire flow, ensuring a seamless shopping experience that is both visually appealing and functional. 

We also need to accommodate varying amounts of product information—some items may have extensive details, while others have just a few sections—all while maintaining a cohesive and intuitive design.




The most logical flow is to stay aligned with the user throughout their journey, ensuring a seamless experience that stays on track from start to finish.

Combining client research along with our own user research, we created a visual representation of the key messages and trigger points for incentivizing the membership service. 

This helped both teams easily recognize the moments that matter within the user journey flow.






Refine

After several weeks of iterations, team finally decided on a direction. 

Muted, earth-toned colors felt the most fitting for the brand, reflecting its commitment to natural products and ingredients.





PDP Pages


Thrive Market has high-quality product images, and since each product is naturally sourced, it comes with a rich story.  

We decided to highlight these stories, helping users explore what they’re eating and understand its purpose. 



PDP Page should be ideal. By showcasing related products, recipes, and ideal pairings, we create a user-friendly experience that people enjoy—eliminating unnecessary information while keeping the shopping journey engaging and informative.



Design System

Every detail matters. We were asked—and committed—to keeping the design clean and uncluttered, avoiding unnecessary badges and tags that would add visual weight.







Mobile

Mobile design is a key component of Thrive Market, with nearly 40% of users accessing the site from their mobile browsers. This strong mobile foundation will pave the way for a future app on both iOS and Android devices.
