Starting pointThe main goal was to refresh Openlayer’s visual language. The previous identity felt outdated, especially in a world where AI is evolving so quickly. The new direction needed to communicate that AI can be approachable, useful, and friendly rather than complex or intimidating.

I started by exploring several visual directions and creating examples to share with internal stakeholders. After gathering feedback, I narrowed the exploration down to two directions and developed them further, which ultimately led to the final visual system.

AI played a big role throughout the process. It helped me quickly explore new ideas, make changes based on feedback, and adapt concepts without slowing down the design process. It also made it possible to create working prototypes early, helping the team see and understand how the experience would actually work rather than just reviewing static designs.

Creative directionThe flower theme was chosen to make the visual language feel friendly, distinctive, and approachable. AI was used to develop the concept and create a unique set of images that brought the direction to life.

Custom AITo keep the visual language consistent across marketing materials such as posters, banners, insights, and blog posts, a custom AI skill was created. It captures the visual rules and allows anyone on the team to generate cohesive images that can be used as part of the brand.
AI BotWith the website launch planned within two weeks, the team needed a faster way to iterate and make changes. A custom AI bot was created to help identify weak spots and make updates on the fly.

Designers could simply describe what needed to change, such as matching a Figma design or creating a different animation for a specific section, and the bot would implement it directly. This made the iteration process significantly faster, saving designers around 5× the time compared to making these changes manually.
